Get to Know Dr. Kenneth Fried
Dr. Kenneth Fried has been serving the Whiting community since 1983, and in that time, he’s not only helped thousands of patients, but made countless good friends along the way as well. Nothing makes him happier than seeing multiple generations of families enjoy healthy and confident smiles thanks to his work, and he can’t wait to show you why our Whiting dental practice has been a local staple for decades.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Growing up, Dr. Kenneth was naturally interested in science, business, and helping people. While in college, he was discussing his future with friends, and ultimately, they helped him decide that a career in dentistry would be the perfect fit. He’s eternally thankful they helped him make the right choice!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Kenneth attended Illinois State University for his undergraduate education, and he went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Illinois. Over the years, he has stayed at the forefront of dental technology and techniques by taking numerous continuing education courses through the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society. Today, he is also a certified provider of ClearCorrect aligners.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Kenneth was born in Chicago, and that is where he met his wife, Marilyn. After they had two children (including our own Dr. David), they decided to move to the South Suburbs and now reside in Dyer. He is very active in the community and has previously served on the boards for the East Side Lions Club, East Side Chamber of Commerce, Hegewisch Chamber of Commerce, American Cancer Society, and Respite Care Services in Highland, IN. On the weekends, you’ll usually find him boating or at home cheering on any Chicago sports team.
